Time for our annual "Celebrate the Arts" day. Once again, it was amazing!
For our first session the class did the etching art piece. They used pastels to cover a canvas with color. Next, they covered it with black paint. Then, they took a unraveled paper clip to etch in the picture of a toucan.
Next, the kids ventured on to a drumming session. We watched/listened to a drummer that has played with many different musicians and has done work with performances like Lion King. It was priceless when a kid asked if he has ever played with anyone famous which came after the drummer's explanation that he had played with The Who, Pat Benatar, and many others. Oh my!
After a recess time with popsicle treats and all we continued with our day. The kids created their tie dye shirts which was the most efficiently run station due to the very organized moms in charge.
Lastly, the kids went out to the playground to paint the mustangs on to our new P.E. storage sheds. Additionally, they painted the school wide project of fish windsocks.
