Day 434

Craving Satisfied
All I wanted was a milkshake.

So, we decided to venture to Chilli's so Chris could enjoy the Happy Hour and I would order a milkshake.  When I went to order I was told the machine was broken.  Chris thought I was going to break down into tears....I might have.

BUT, the sweet waitress learned of my craving and how there was just nothing fun to drink.  She then offered to make me a stellar milkshake using the blender.

Yum, it was awesome.  She even made mine pretty!  And, everyone at the bar got a small tasting from the leftovers in the blender.

Day 433

For our Little Lion
Since the baby's due date is August 8th, his sign will be a Leo "the lion".  After our ultrasound I had to buy something!  I found this onesie and hat at Gap Baby.  I just love it!

Day 432

Embroidery
Candle Making
Stenciling
Corn Husk Doll Making
Tin Art
My fourth Colonial Day completed successfully.  This year the weather cooperated, thank goodness!  We made a few changes by simplifying the corn husk dolls and by using tin sheets instead of the cans.

The kids had so much fun and were exhausted by the end of the day.  My parent volunteers were wonderful and my mom even came to help.

Day 431

It's a Boy!
We found out that our baby is a boy!  The 20 week ultrasound was just amazing.  It was so reassuring to see all the major organs and to hear that our baby is looking great.  A good, good day!

Day 430

Something's Brewing Boys
Our fifth grade's Revolutionary Play was a success.  My class had three of the nine songs split between the three classes.  Our songs included a scene about:

King George called "It's Great to Be an Empire"
Colonists being fed up with taxes called "Taxation Without Representation"
The Boston Tea Party called "Down, Down, Down"

The picture is of the tea box I made and the caption is of a line from the song.  In this Boston Tea Party song the kids sang behind some cardboard boats and dumped the tea "overboard".  When we had our morning performance for the school, the kindergartners thought this was hilarious!

Day 429

Harley's Food
One great thing about Harley's food situation is that he loves cheap Iams food unlike our last cat that had to eat high priced, specialized food from the vet.

The not so great things...
Harley feels the need to spill food all over the place.
Harley will scream and cry when there are any empty spots in his bowl.

Chris' solution...to fill up the bowl with the food on the floor.  I, on the other hand, am nice to the bad kitty.

Day 428

Getting Ready for Colonial Day
I bought Lucky's out of their corn husks.  Fifteen bags ready to be soaked for our upcoming Colonial Day projects.

Day 427

At the Candy Shop
Yummy!  I sure needed some sour candies....mmm, mmm, good.  I haven't gotten bin candy since college.

Day 426

Wake Up Call
Kona and "Dougie the Dog"
I woke up the dogs by letting them in from the garage.  Dixie took a while to get up but Kona leaped up and ran to get her toy.  She greeted me and headed to the back to find her very best friend...Chris.  I heard all this noise and saw Kona on the bed!  I had to snap a shot or two.

Day 425

Spud Luncheon
Our staff holds a "Spud Luncheon" each year where we have our baked potato bar.  This cupcake display was done by one of the fellow teachers...so cool!

I tried a cupcake pop and a cupcake.  The cupcake amazed me when I found an Oreo cookie piece on the bottom, so yummy!

Day 424

Girl or Boy???
We will find out the gender on Thursday, March 22nd...if the baby is in the right position.  The excitement is feeling real since the time is coming closer.  I have known about this appointment since 13 weeks along but it seemed so far away.

Update to come later...

Day 423

LOTS of Work To Do
This is our guest room that will become the baby's room.  Oh my!  We need to go through everything and get rid of the tall dresser and radio, move the futon into our office and get some baby stuff in the room.

Day 422

19 Weeks
I had my check-up today and was told I am doing good despite my constant worries.

At 19 weeks I am still feeling sick at night but I sure know it is for the best of reasons...I am growing our baby.  I am eating fine during the day but once darkness falls, it is hard to put anything down but it does stay down these days, thankfully.  My cravings are fruits and vegetables...so thankful I am craving healthy stuff!

Almost halfway there...yay!

Day 421

Yes, I Am a Teenager
I am so very excited for the upcoming movie "The Hunger Games".  I finished this trilogy long before all the hype and loved it.  I saw this magazine and had to grab it to read all about the movie.

Another reason I am like a teenager...I just got in "trouble" for texting too much and going over our allotted texts.

Day 420

Goodbye Spring Training 2012!
Mr. Pickle Was Here
We forgot Mr. Pickle at the house when we went to the games.  So, on the way to the airport we stopped at the training facility's sign right by the house to snap a picture of Mr. Pickle and of us, too.

Next time we go to Spring Training we will have Baby Walker with us!

Day 419

A Wonderful Surprise!
I was told by Chris some time ago that his mom had a surprise for me but didn't find out until I woke up that morning that I was being treated to a spa facial.  It was amazing.
Scottsdale Stadium
Brewers vs. Giants
Action Shot
Go Romo!
Strike!
Dodgers' Fans Causing Trouble
"Lemonade, Lemonade...Like Grandma Made!"
Let's Go Giants!
We had to see the Giants!  All geared up, we ventured over to Scottsdale Stadium with Chris' parents.  We saw a great game in which the Giants finally had some offense, it was great to see.

Of course, the Dodgers' fans had to come and cause some trouble by parading through the game and we had to snap a shot of our beloved lemonade salesman!  If you listen to any of the Spring Training games you will probably hear, "Lemonade, lemonade, like Grandma made.  You know you want it!"

I had my new maternity Giants shirt which read, "We are SF fans," to sport my new growing belly since the baby will for sure be a Giants fan with me.

Day 418

Salt River Fields...Rockies vs. A's
Field View
Front Row Seats
Impressive
Always Some Wacky Fans
Loving the Sun
Love Spring Training
I have to state how are outing started when Chris pulled on his version of an acceptable shirt to wear to the game but had a smirk on his face.  I took one look at the self-made sleeveless shirt and ordered a change.  He knew it but made an unwise decision of wearing his nice, made to wear, sleeveless shirt on his run.

But, we did a little shopping before the game since he needed new running shoes and Chris' mom bought him a birthday outfit which included this new black and gray sleeveless shirt which met my approval.

Off to the game.  We wanted to check out this new ballpark which opened last year and is home to both the Diamondbacks and Rockies.  The sun was shining and the tickets were much cheaper than the ones we are used to buying for the Giants.  Even the foods and drinks were cheaper and Chris actually had a few beers at a baseball game which is usually unheard of when going to a Giants' game.

We attended the game with Chris' mom and had great front row seats.  The game was fun and the people watching was great!

Day 417

Housesitter Plans
It may be because I leave very detailed teacher sub plans or maybe I am a little anal when it comes to my fur family members...whatever it may be, I leave about a three page plan for our housesitter.  I do add fun commentary to help ease the length!

We love our housesitter and so do the pets (well, sort of).  Kona adores her and Dixie has always been  a pain but this trip got a good report and we attribute it to her new good nature from the eye removal.  Now, Harley...he is naughty!  I was told that he sits on the coffee table and just meows away!  And, he runs around in the shower, plays in the toilet, and acts like he doesn't like her.  Oh my!  Harley is high maintenance but he isn't that bad for us.

Anyway...we were off to Scottsdale, AZ for a fun weekend in the sun to enjoy Spring Training to celebrate Chris' upcoming 35th birthday.

Day 416

Kona's Magic "No Pee" Pills
Kona has been taking these pills for a number of years now.  We first noticed a problem when she would leave a small puddle of urine behind when relaxing or sleeping.  She would feel so bad and try to clean it up.  So, we had her checked out and put on these pills.

Kona would not just take the pill and chew it like the vet said she would.  Instead we had to try to wrap the pill in just about everything but Kona would eat the treat and spit out the pill.  We had to resort to opening her mouth up wide and throwing it down her throat.

But, recently Dixie had to be put on some medicine and I was grossed out by shoving the pill in a hot dog piece so I wrapped it in a half slice of American cheese and Kona got a piece for "watching".  Then, I had the idea of trying Kona's med in some cheese and...it worked!  Yay!

Day 415

Mathematics Framework
Back in December it was advertised that the school district wanted someone to attend this focus group about the California Mathematics Framework.  So, I applied to the state, was accepted and attended the group in Redwood City.  The panel was made up of other Bay Area teachers, principals, and district employees from many different school districts.  We shared our opinions on what the framework should be like when re-done in 2014.  It will be interesting to see if we were listened to...

Day 414

Singapore Math Conference
Our principal so graciously was able to send 12 of the teachers to a two day Singapore Math Conference.  This conference was really informative and I was excited to bring back the information to use right away.  I especially loved that we received these two note-taking books filled with all of the conference information.  I highly recommend this conference to any elementary, middle school teacher or a parent.

Day 413

Beautiful Day
It must of been 80 degrees out today, so gorgeous!  Here I have shown our blossoms on the plum tree, our "Love Shack" and the flag.  We are so ready for Spring Time!

Day 412

Sleepy Time
I found this picture as I was loading the computer with my pictures from the week.  Chris obviously took this while I was doing what I do best these days...sleeping.  The baby still takes over most of my energy and I am SO very tired by 8:30 each night.  Dixie has taken to this as her favorite time and begs to come up with me, of course on Chris' side of the bed!

Day 411

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!
My fifth graders had a fun day full of reading.  We had four guest readers and also enjoyed cozy time lounging and reading on our own.  Thanks, Dr. Seuss for writing so many wonderful books.  We celebrated with the "Read Across America" day.

Day 410

That Time Again...Report Cards
I took my report card day off but had to get some more grading completed.  Anyone who thinks teachers work 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and get all this time off, come on over and do some grading for me!

Day 409

Girls' Night Out
Few ladies and I ventured out to a favorite spot in Danville for some dinner and company.  I had a wonderful pasta salad, one that I have never had like before.  And, there was lots of yummy bread.  Good times!

Day 408

Our Chess Set
For our wedding, I bought Chris this Revolutionary War chess set and he got me a beautiful pearl ring.  This set has brought us many times of fun (and arguing)...Chris is quite the chess player and I am a poor loser.

Day 407

Mr. Pickle
When Chris got some sandwiches last week, he picked up this Mr. Pickle.  There is a contest to take this lovable snack to places we travel and to shoot a photo, send it in and hopefully win a prize.  We plan on taking it on our upcoming Spring Training trip to Arizona.

Day 406

Caught in the Act
The dogs have been loving the dog that lives behind us.  I was home during the day and noticed both of them running around the bark and trying to "climb" up the wall.  See those garden decorations all knocked over?  There are even more that aren't seen.  Well, those are they to keep this dog off of the bark because she kept going to the bathroom up there...clearly it works!  She has just knocked them over to bark away and poop away!

Day 405

Finally Organized
We have had clean clothes, lots of clean clothes but they were all piled in laundry baskets waiting to be put away.  Finally, I put all of them away and am now trying to be on top of doing a load of laundry and then immediately putting the clothes away.  My excuse for it being so tough...not enough space for everything!
