Day 402

New T-Shirt?
Since I finally got the courage to tell work, I suppose my blog can display our news too!  :)

We are excited for the arrival of Baby Walker.  The estimated due date is August 8, 2012.  I am 16 weeks pregnant and we will find out the gender in about a month.

Day 401

More Than One Meaning For the Day
One of my new favorite shows is "New Girl".  It is just a mindless, cute sitcom that I enjoy after a workday.  If you want to check it out, it is on Tuesdays at 9 pm on FOX.

But this picture is also to depict that my class got a new girl today.  I always giggle when we get a new girl and I tell the class about it.  Because all the girls think this new girl will be their best friend and all the boys think that she will be their new girlfriend.  :)

Day 400

Ha!
All types of these photos have been circulating.  The teacher one is pretty funny!

Day 399

Oh NO!  A Cone, Again?!
Yep!  Dixie needed a new cone.  Not for her eye, thank goodness.  But we have noticed this wart like growth on her side.  Well, she has started to lick and gnaw at it.  So, we are routinely cleaning up the growth and putting the dreaded cone on her until we can get her into the vet.  Poor Dixie, poor us!

Day 398

Manassas Battlefield
Air and Space Museum at Dulles
Chris shared some of his photos from the trip.  Not that he had a ton of time to explore since he was in meetings all day, but he did make it to two spots.

One day, Chris went running on the Manassas Battlefield, the home of the first major Civil War battle.  The photo shows the sunset with Stonewall Jackson's statue and a farm house that stood during the battle.

Another day, Chris was let out of meetings a little early and he headed over to the Air and Space Museum.

Day 397

Home AT LAST!
Being gone on a business trip from Monday through Friday was way too long!  We were all SO happy to see our Chris come home!

Day 396

Girl Scout Cookie Time
It is that time of year!  I ordered from one of my teacher friends since her daughter is a "Daisy".  It was funny since when I ordered the cookies via text she mistook me stating, "Thank You Berry Much", as a "thank you" and not as an order.  :)  I got the right cookies after all.

Day 395

Missing Daddy
The usual morning routine has Chris waking the dogs up by saying very loudly, "Good Morning...Oop, Poop!"  And then Kona runs through the house with a toy (usually her very large green spider).  She runs to the back to see me in bed and she gets a pet.  Dixie will not get up until Chris opens the garage to get the newspaper or brings out food.  Chris is then in charge of giving Dixie her morning eye drops and Kona will relax either back on her bed or in the bedroom watching me get ready.

Well, with Chris out of town...the dogs were not happy.  Neither dog would get up until I brought out their breakfast!

Day 394

Happy Valentine's Day
For my Valentine's Day, I ventured over to my parents house for a yummy take-out Chinese dinner.  When I arrived I was surprised by these dozen roses from my dad!  :)

You may ask about Chris...well, he was very busy away in the Washington D.C. area for a business trip.  He was missed!

Day 393

Bath Time?!
After hearing all sorts of banging in the guest bathroom, I decided to investigate.  I guess Harley was trying to send me a message...he is one dirty cat!

Day 392

The Quilted Masterpiece!
Top Rows:  My Shirts
Middle Rows:  Shirts with Memories Made Together
Bottom Rows:  Chris's Shirts
Additional Touches
The Artist's (A.K.A. My Mom's) Label
Chris and I cannot believe we have this BEAUTIFUL quilt!

Years ago, Chris and I had wanted to have a quilt made with our t-shirts that were full of memories.  I remember looking into a service to have it made.  Then, back in the fall, my mom mentioned how she had been quilting and wanted to make us a t-shirt quilt.  Yippee!

So, Chris and I selected the shirts and I went out shopping (with my mom's help) to select the fabrics.  I planned the quilt and helped with some cutting.  That is where my work ended.

My mom put in hours to sew this wonderful memory quilt together.  We are just amazed!

The plan is to put this quilt on our guest bed once we do some rearranging of our rooms.  I love it!  Thank you, Mom...it is priceless!

Day 390

My Latest Craze
I have heard others talking about Pinterest and I finally checked it out.

This is a site where you can save different ideas, recipes, pictures, etc. that you like.  The site calls it a "repin" if you save something.  It reminds me of bookmarking websites but it organizing your favorite things onto different boards.

I find myself "repinning" recipes, school ideas, and crafts.  Lots of fun!

Day 389

For My Hard Working Chris
Chris had a stiff neck for the past week and when he looked into booking a massage nothing worked with his schedule.  I knew he would have time on that upcoming Friday, so I went ahead and made the appointment at Club Sport, bought the massage and added the chocolate treat.  He was very pleased!

Day 388

I Think I Bought EVERY Type of Fruit
Which Equaled a Yummy Fruit Salad
I left the grocery store with just about every fruit.  It worked out since I had planned to make breakfast burritos for dinner so a fruit salad was a great addition.

Day 387

My Heart Dish...Finished Project
This post is an updated one to my work-in-progress project I posted about last week.  My mom brought over the finished bowl and I think I did a nice job.  When I showed Chris he said, "I like it, where did you buy it?"  I had to explain that I had made it.  :)

Day 386

Our Fifth Grade Play
It is that time of the year in which we begin our preparations for the big fifth grade play.  We alternate the type of play each year.  So, I have done this particular play two years ago which helps the planning.

I have assigned the parts in the play and dividing my 30 kids into the 3 different songs.  Now, we practice our singing each day while reading the parts.  Next...we learn dance moves!

Day 385

Our Little "Helper"
Carrying Beers Around...Expecting a Tip
Lots of Treats
And More
Superbowl Sunday...

Dixie got all ready with her beer delivery apron and we got the house ready for lots of company.  Each couple brought over some good eats.
While the game was a little boring, the company and food was great!

Day 384

Pedicure
My mom contacted me yesterday about getting pedicures today and I was totally in!  With all this beautiful weather, good toe nails are a must!  Thanks, Mom!

Day 383

Tug of War
For P.E. we brought out some big ropes for tug of war.  We had a mixed competition (boys and girls) and then we separated the boys and girls.  When there was an overall boy winner and girl winner, we had those two teams compete.  And...the girls won!  The boys were so bent out of shape, it was too funny.  Then, the other boys wanted to try again against some girls and once again, the boys lost!

Day 382

Our Old TV
Since Christmas, when we got our new flat screen, our old TV has taken up our guest room waiting to be taken away.  Soon, my in-laws will be taking this TV away to their house in Arizona.  I can't wait to get it out.  It literally takes up the entire guest room space which shows that:

1.)  The TV is massive.

and

2.)  Our guest room is tiny.

Day 381

Biking for Power
Electricity
Liquid Nitrogen
"Elephant Toothpaste"
Our class visited the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory today for our field trip.  The kids first go through a series of stations to learn about different scientific things and then they went into a classroom atmosphere to conduct experiments.  Fun day!

Day 380

Chris' New Toy/Trainer
Chris had wanted the NFL Training Camp for wii when it first came out but of course it was pricey.  Months later, he found a great deal and got it.  He has been loving the workouts.  And, the dogs love watching and cheering him on!

Day 379

Another Cold!!!
In honor of my new cold...

How do you make a tissue dance?

Put a little boogie in it!

Day 378

Folding Laundry With My Helper
It was finally time to fold all of our laundry.  We are great about cleaning the clothes but putting them away...that's another story.  So, I sat on our bed, folded, watched Lifetime movies, and Harley watched.  As you can see he loves to snuggle on our clean clothes, ugh!

Day 377

My Cafe Art Project-Painted Over Lace
Ready for the Kiln
My Mom Making a Piggy Bank
My mom and I love to paint at Cafe Art.  It is so relaxing and fun too.

I made a heart shaped dish for Valentine's Day.  There was a lace painting technique shown in the store, so I gave it a try.

A piggy bank was painted by my mom...cute!
